Nokia says it’s signed a brand new patent cross-license settlement with Apple that can change the present license that’s attributable to expire on the finish of 2023.
The phrases of the settlement stay confidential between the events, which have been each mates and frenemies through the years.
“We’re delighted to have concluded a long-term patent license settlement with Apple on an amicable foundation,” says Jenni Lukander, president of Nokia Applied sciences. “The settlement displays the power of Nokia’s patent portfolio, decades-long investments in R&D, and contributions to mobile requirements and different applied sciences.”
Nokia expects to acknowledge the income associated to this new patent license settlement beginning in January 2024. The settlement is in keeping with the assumptions Nokia has disclosed within the commentary with respect to Nokia Applied sciences long-term outlook in its Monetary Report for quarter one which was issued on April 20, 2023.
