Lorcana has revealed its latest set: Rise of the Floodborn. It features characters from each basic and new Disney franchises, unfold throughout 200 playing cards. Characters from movies like The Jungle Ebook, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, The Nice Mouse Detective, Pinocchio, Zootopia, and Raya and the Final Dragon will make their first appearances on this set.
Along with the brand new playing cards, Lorcana may also be collaborating within the Disney’s one centesimal anniversary celebration. Disney Lorcana: Disney100 Version will include six playing cards with alternate paintings drawn by Disney animators from Walt Disney Animation Studios. In response to the press launch, “Each card options an unique Disney100 body design, a satin holographic foil end, and a replica of the animator’s signature prominently displayed.” These can be out there for buy in December. The second set may also include two starter decks in two new combos: Amber/Sapphire and Amethyst/Metal.
With this announcement comes an expanded exploration of the lore behind Lorcana. The second set explains that there was a “mysterious flood of ink” that reworked Disney characters into the “floodborn glimmers” that seem within the card sport. The flood prompted a chaos of ink colours, and because the flood receded from the Nice Illuminary, lore and artifacts had been misplaced.
Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn will launch first at native sport shops on November 17, adopted by mass market retailers on December 1. Starter decks retail at $16.99 USD/$21.99 CAD; booster packs at $5.99 USD/$7.99 CAD; and the Illumineer’s Trove will retail for $49.99 USD/$64.99 CAD.
